Clinical Supervision Services

Cultivating Connections is committed to supporting your journey towards becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by offering expert clinical supervision in ILLINOIS, IOWA, INDIANA and TEXAS. Our focus is on fostering the development of your skills, expanding your knowledge, and equipping you with the necessary resources for success. Through open communication, continuous feedback, and collaborative growth, we aim to help you enhance your clinical abilities and reach your professional goals.

My Approach to Supervision

As a supervisor, I take a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to support your growth and development. I believe the foundation of effective supervision lies in building strong, collaborative relationships where open communication is prioritized. By focusing on your existing strengths and skills, my goal is to help you enhance your clinical abilities and reach your full potential. Supervision is a partnership, and I am committed to guiding you through this process with respect, encouragement, and constructive feedback.

Supervision Requirements

 At this time, supervisees must be working in the state of (Illinois/Iowa/Indiana/Texas) and seeking supervision toward license, unless granted direct permission from the state licensing board(s).

  •   MSWs must work for 3,000 hours under the supervision of an LCSW
  •  PhDs/DSWs must work for 2,000 hours under supervision of an LCSW
  •   BSWs are ineligible for the LCSW

You must be currently working in the social work field. The work may be paid or volunteer work, but it must be direct practice experience (non-clerical). Your work must consist of client contact or administrative work directly related to client contact to count toward your licensure.

  •   You may work part-time (15–30 hrs/wk) or full-time (30–40 hrs/wk).

You must meet with your supervisor(s) a minimum of four hours per month to discuss client cases and treatment procedures.

  •   You may have different supervisors at different times, provided they’re all licensed appropriately. Proof of supervision hours completed will be required for any supervisees who have previously completed hours with a different clinical supervisor.

You may be supervised in groups of no more than five (5) people at a time.


  •   If seeking supervision outside of your employer, please check with your employer’s reimbursement policies to determine if you can receive reimbursement for supervision fees.
